Lets Dance

Malbec is a wine variety synonymous with Argentina, as is the meaning of ‘Lo Tengo’ or in translation ‘The Tango’. This wine was picked under recommendation but does it live up to expectations..?

Lo Tengo (Argentina)

  • Malbec
  • 2011
  • 13.5%
  • 750ml (Screw Top)
  • I paid: $10

The smell of this wine is big, cluttered and nutty. Along with the nuts I get soil, light mint and an odd battery smell. It starts off tasting super rich. Big juicy fruits, plums, blueberries and dates all seeming slapdash, vying for my attention. A midsection consistent of a metallic metal taste is short-lived. Low spice and plum wrap things up abruptly while leaving my mouth dryer than preferred.

I can’t complain. Although it lacks structure and depth for $10 it’s a drinkable, juicy & fruity wine. So in conclusion I guess I could say that I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink it again but if your budget was $10 and no more, its worthy of serious consideration.

3/5 Grapes!
